Bardibas, an Introduction

Located in Mahottari District of Madhes Province, Bardibas is located just 90 km away from Kathmandu. Initially merging four villages—Bardibas, Maisthan, Gauribas, and Kishan Nagar—It was established as a municipality in 2014, and later, four more villages—Hathilet, Pashupatinagar, Khaya Mara, and Bijayalpura were also added. It is bordered by Mithila and Bhangaha municipalities in the east, Banke River and Gaushala municipality in the west, Kamala Mai municipality in the north, and Aurhi and Bhagaha municipalities in the south.

Bardibas is the starting point of the Bardibas-Sindhuli-Banepa highway, and so is known as the eastern gateway to Kathmandu. Due to this fact, the municipality has seen rapid growth and development in the past few years, with many hotels and other establishments coming up by the day. Aside From its strategic importance arising from its relatively short distance from the capital, Bardibas is also well known for its numerous temples and beautiful scenery.
